1 cup margarine (softened, not melted or runny)
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. pure vanilla
6 ½ cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
Cream Cheese Frosting
1 cube real butter (Don't use margarine)
1 8 oz Cream Cheese softened
4 cups powdered sugar
Cream the margarine, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients alternating with the sour cream.
Roll on floured surface, cut and bake at 350 for about 10-12 minutes. Time varies based on how thick you roll them. Check them while they're still in the oven by getting a spatula and lifting the cookie to see if the bottom is barely brown. (Makes 40-50 depending on size and thickness)
For the frosting:
Mix butter and cream cheese.
Gradually add powdered sugar.
Add food coloring if desired.
