1 pkg dry yeast (1 T)
¼ c warm water
2 T sugar
2 ½ c flour
1 t baking powder
½ t baking soda
1 t salt
½ c shortening
1 c buttermilk
Sprinkle yeast over water.
Cover with sugar.
Let soften.
In a mixing bowl, mx flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
Cut in shortening.
Then add buttermilk and yeast mixture.
Blend thoroughly. Refrigerate.
When ready to bake, turn dough onto a floured surface.
Roll out ¼ -½ in thick.
Cut. Place on cookie sheet.
Let rise slightly.
Bake at 400 until lightly browned.
