1 c butter, room temperature
1 c granulated sugar
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 t vanilla extract
2 eggs
3 c all-purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 ½ c semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla and eggs. Beat about 1 minute.
Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt onto a square of wax paper (or mix in a bowl).
Add to the butter mixture and mix until all the ingredients are well-combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cooking sheet and flatten slightly with the palm of your hand.
Bake 8-10 mins.
Remove to a cooling rack.
These cookies freeze well.
**Can add a handful of coconut and walnut or pecans!
